Ed Hetherington is the President of Hetherington Advisors LLC, a specialized consulting firm he established in October 2022 following his retirement from Doosan Bobcat. With over five decades of experience in equipment financing, Ed helps finance companies, manufacturers, and dealers leverage financing solutions to drive equipment sales, with particular expertise in captive and virtual captive financing structures. Ed's distinguished career in equipment financing spans 52 years, beginning in 1973 with Equilease Corporation. Throughout his career, he has held senior management positions with industry-leading organizations including Chase Manhattan Leasing, GE Capital, Textron Financial, and The CIT Group, where he served as Chief Operating Officer of the Atlanta division. His expertise encompasses financing across diverse asset classes including construction equipment, transportation, production machinery, forklifts, and software solutions. A significant portion of Ed's career has been dedicated to franchise financing, where he has led teams in comprehensive financing programs covering real estate, equipment roll-outs, image enhancements, and franchise acquisitions.
In January 2002, Ed was retained as a consultant by Ingersoll Rand to develop their captive financing capability. Following the successful completion of this engagement, he was appointed President of Ingersoll Rand Financial Services, a role he held until 2007 when Bobcat and IR Portable Power were acquired by Doosan. Ed then transitioned to President of Doosan Financial Solutions (DFS) and later became President of Doosan Bobcat Financial Solutions (DBFS), overseeing global financing operations for the Doosan equipment portfolio. In this capacity, he managed comprehensive financial products including floor plan financing, retail financing, leasing, credit cards, accounts receivable financing, and supplier financing for brands including Bobcat, Doosan Heavy, Doosan Portable Power, Doosan Forklift, and Doosan Fuel Cell. Financing programs were available in over 40 countries including China. Throughout his tenure with both Ingersoll Rand and Doosan Bobcat, Ed served as a standing member of each company's Global Corporate Credit Committee. He retired from Doosan Bobcat in August 2022, where he had served as Senior Advisor to the CEO and President of DBFS. Ed is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Equipment Leasing and Financing Association, where he served on the Executive, Membership, and Audit Committees, as well as the Vendor and Captive Financing Committee. Since 2009, Ed has been an active volunteer with the Atlanta Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, serving on the Advisory Board, Executive Committee, annual golf tournament committee, and Light the Night Committee. He currently participates on the Georgia Advocacy Committee and the Executive Challenge for Light the Night. Ed has contributed his expertise as an author in "Mission Matters, Leadership and Success
Volume 11" and has appeared on the Mission Matters podcast discussing leadership topics, sharing insights from his extensive experience in building and leading successful financing organizations.

The first thirty years, as both a third-party lender and a lending partner to manufacturers and franchisors. And, over the last almost twenty years I have I led a successful captive global finance company for a leading equipment manufacturer. That captive financing company financed billions of dollars every year using floor plan, retail financing, leasing, supplier financing and other financial products. Our programs where available in over forty countries and provided commercial, consumer and dealer financing.

Jessica Hetherington, a certified coach, for the last seven years, has focused on helping small businesses grow and scale their businesses. Her emphasis is on branding, marketing, strategy, and sales enhancement. She provides guidance, support and the sounding board that is so crucial to the success of a small business that does not have the resources to staff all these needed disciplines.

While experience is crucially important, we believe the real value of experience is in its ability to help create and embrace change!
